When I was switching from making beats to samples, I wanted a new name. My original name was just Oscxr with an X instead of the A, but that didn\u2019t feel unique enough. So, I Googled cool Spanish names and found \u201cLucien.\u201d However, the handle for Lucien wasn\u2019t available on Instagram, so I had to come up with something before it. That\u2019s when &#8220;Trust Me&#8221; came into the picture. Sometimes I wake up with a melody in my head, record it in voice notes, and later bring it into the studio. Other times, I go outside and find inspiration from beautiful places. Being in nature\u2014whether it\u2019s a beach or a mountain\u2014helps me translate those visuals into music. I\u2019m not a great singer by any means\u2014I\u2019ve never had lessons\u2014but I sing with emotion. Sometimes my vocals are out of key, but I think the raw energy is what gives my samples life. I don\u2019t rely on perfect auto-tuning. It has a wide range of preset combinations that I use to come up with new ideas. Then there\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.native-instruments.com\/en\/products\/komplete\/samplers\/kontakt-8\/\">Kontakt<\/a><\/span>. As long as you have the right banks, Kontakt will always be a must-have because it constantly reinvents itself with new sounds. And finally, I\u2019d say one-shots.
