1. Who is Vision?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good question, haha. To be honest, Vision is a kid from a small town in the middle of nowhere in Germany who, through discovering Wiz Khalifa vlogs and Internet Money tutorials on YouTube back in the day, developed an interest in music. First wanting to become a rapper, but then falling in love with making beats, and later with making samples.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

2. A while back, you had a pretty exciting record drop with Roddy Ricch titled Ghetto Superstar<\/em>, which had you collaborating with Cubeatz, Southside, and Mustard. Can you tell us a bit about what that experience\/process was like and how it felt to collab with these 3 incredible producers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It was crazy! Having my first major placement with legends like Mustard, Southside, and Cubeatz was truly insane. I remember calling everyone I knew to tell them about the song as soon as I got the news. That was a great day, fr! As for the process, it was pretty lowkey. I had been working with Cubeatz quite a bit at the time, just sending ideas and samples back and forth. One day, I made a pack where I flipped some Memphis acapellas into trap samples after listening to a ton of $uicideboy$. Cubeatz instantly saw the vision (badum tss), flipped it, and sent it out to Southside, who was in a session with Roddy and Mustard that day. From me making the initial sample to the song releasing was only about two weeks, which is super rare. It was truly an amazing experience.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

3. What are some of your favorite VSTs\/Tools?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

There are a ton of awesome tools and VSTs I use on a constant basis! Everyone who has seen me cook up knows that I use Reels and Fruity Flangus every single time. There’s just something special about these two that really encapsulates my sound. For mixing and mastering, my go-tos are always FL Parametric EQ 2, Soothe2, and The God Particle. You can really clean up any mess using just those three. To completely flip a sound, my favorites are Evermotion (shoutout Macshooter), Cymatics Illusion (shoutout Steven), and Autochroma.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

4. What\u2019s a tip you would give to other producers & musicians that you feel would instantly improve their craft?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ear training and learning music theory, by far! I used to neglect these two so much because it felt so overwhelming to learn. But being able to recognize chord progressions just by listening to a song is a hidden superpower. If your ears are trained and you have a solid understanding of music theory, you can basically break down and deconstruct any song you hear in your head, even while waiting in the mall. Having that skill set allows you to build a library of chord progressions, rhythms, and aesthetics that you can pull from whenever you want.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

5. What\u2019s the secret behind your sound? Where do you draw inspiration from, and what does your creative process look like? How are the ideas for your creations birthed?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Subtracting. My approach to music is defined by subtraction. The goal is to create something that evokes emotion and, ideally, is also catchy, using the fewest elements possible. This is also reflected in my creative process. I throw as many elements as I can think of into the project, and once I\u2019ve explored all possibilities, I start stripping away. It\u2019s like a sculptor beginning with a solid block of marble and carefully chipping away until the final form emerges.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

6. What does the future look like for Vision?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The future for Vision definitely looks like making a lot of music, that\u2019s for sure! Haha. I\u2019m excited to build my music catalog, work more closely with artists I admire, and collaborate with people who inspire me\u2014many of whom are on WAVS (Smokhix, Ty, Era, Yuo, Lucien, Monii, Chedeezy, and so many more).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
