This track turned some heads.<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Not just because of Davis\u2019s unexpected singing debut\u2014but also because of the beat itself<\/strong>.
Produced by Lucas Quinn<\/a><\/span><\/strong> from The Vault Sounds<\/a><\/span> and built around The Blindside<\/em>\u2019s sample (which Lucas sampled through WAVS.com<\/a><\/strong><\/span>), the flip was undeniably destined to become a banger. And fortunately, it did<\/mark><\/strong>.
We’re thrilled to be able to chat with the guys and bring some more information of the behind the scenes process of a very peculiar placement such as this one.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

1. Who are The Blindside?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We were introduced to you by Brian \u201cDeep\u201d Watters<\/a><\/span><\/strong> from HOUSE OF WAVES<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, a producer whose taste we deeply trust. Knowing Brian\u2019s eye for talent, we were excited to have you on WAVS, and you\u2019ve truly impressed us with your sound. Your recent AMP placement is no surprise. We’re keen to learn more about you guys and your unique sound.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are Sev and Mo from Germany, and we are studying music production. We founded The Blindside about a year ago with the goal of creating unique samples inspired by various genres. We are big fans of analog equipment, including instruments, synths, and tape. We strive to create as much as possible from scratch\u2014from vocals to recording ethnic instrumentalists, which plays a big role in our sound. We have been working with Brian for six months now, and his mentorship lead us to releasing on WAVS, for which we are incredibly grateful.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

2. How did you feel about your sample \u201cblindside_Fbm_75.wav\u201d<\/strong> being placed on the
AMP cypher<\/strong> with ImDavisss<\/strong>, featuring names like Kai Cenat, Duke Dennis<\/strong>, and, of
course, the legendary Kevin Hart<\/strong>? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We remember the anthemic quality of this sample and even featured it in a \u2018sample this\u2019 post on the WAVS Instagram. Whether that influenced the placement or not, it caught the ear of producer Lucas Quinn<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, resulting in an amazing flip.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to such an amazing format. It’s incredible to see a sample we created in our small student apartment go international and be used by such big names, which wouldn\u2019t have been possible without the platform WAVS provides. What makes this placement particularly special for us is that the original idea was to create some form of a theme song for ourselves, \u201cThe Blindside,\u201d which is reflected in some of the lyrics we sang: “This is a hit from the blindside.” The lyrics have a double meaning, both referring to someone being hit from the blindside and the song itself being a hit from The Blindside (us).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Can you tell us how it felt to get such a unique placement like this one and whether you\u2019ve found WAVS to be a good environment for your work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It felt amazing, especially seeing all our hard work finally pay off, which wouldn’t have been possible without WAVS. WAVS provides the opportunity to share our work with amazing artists and producers from around the world. It allows us to collaborate with people globally, as we did with the AMP placement and Lucas Quinn, who did an incredible job flipping the sample and creating the beat for ImDavisss. The amount of people we met through WAVS that share the same passion for music is insane and we are extremely grateful for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
