In the world of music creation, we often celebrate the beats that make us move and the melodies that linger in our hearts. But behind every great track lies the unsung hero – the composer, the storyteller who weaves emotions into sound. Enter yuo, a multi-talented creator whose journey is as inspiring as the music he crafts.

Yuo’s story begins in France, where music became not just a passion but a purpose. A composer, producer, lyricist, and more, yuo approaches music as a storyteller would, focusing deeply on harmony and emotion.
“I’ve always been drawn to the emotional side of music,” he says, “and I consider myself a lifelong student, constantly striving to expand my sound and vision.”
That hunger for growth started six years ago, back in high school. At first, Yuo was a lyricist, inspired by the raw emotion of artists like XXXTentacion. But something was missing.
“I couldn’t find the exact sound I was looking for in others’ work,” yuo explains, “so I decided to create it myself.”
Guided by mentors like Maxime Fleury, Gwxn, and Isma, he dove headfirst into production, learning piano, drums, and the intricacies of music-making. It wasn’t just about acquiring skills – it was about discovering a voice that felt uniquely his. And now, whether it’s crafting intricate samples or collaborating with other creators, yuo finds joy in the daily pursuit of creating something meaningful.

Consistency Meets Quality
When yuo joined WAVS, it didn’t take long for his work to resonate with producers on the platform. His samples quickly gained momentum, earning him gold producer status. But Yuo is the first to credit the producers who supported him:
“This momentum is made possible by the incredible producers on WAVS who understood my vision and validated my sound.”

The secret to his success? Consistency paired with an unwavering commitment to quality. Yuo takes his time with every release, drawing inspiration from old records, exploring diverse styles, and focusing on constant evolution.
“I aim to improve with every drop,” he says, “whether it’s the mix, the artwork, or the details in the samples themselves. I never want to repeat the same ideas.”
Collaboration has also been key. Seasoned producers like Lucien, Mentura, Pasdechance, and Era played pivotal roles early on, sharing insights that helped him refine his craft. Yuo’s openness to learning from others mirrors his approach to music itself: always looking to grow, never standing still.

The Magic of Mixing Real and Digital
Yuo’s sound is a blend of the organic and the digital. Whether he’s using VSTs like Kontakt Noire or layering his own vocals (yes, those hauntingly beautiful vocals in his samples are his), the goal is always the same: authenticity.
“I focus on details like velocities, dynamics, and automations to make everything sound as organic as possible,” he says.

The AHLAM PIANO sample pack series has put yuo on the map as a creative to look out for.
While VSTs like UVI Ravenscroft and Pianoteq allow him to craft intricate melodies and harmonies, Yuo also loves incorporating real instruments, often inviting friends to contribute live recordings. His mixing process is equally meticulous, using EQs, compressors, and reverb to shape each sound and amplify its emotional resonance.
From WAVS to SCH: A Dream Realized
One of yuo’s most celebrated milestones came through WAVS: a placement with SCH, one of France’s most prominent rappers. It happened remarkably fast – just 2-3 months after the release of the pack containing the sample. Yuo recalls the inspiration behind the pack:
“We drew from Japanese old songs like Hako Yamasaki and Joe Hisaishi’s work for Ghibli movies, mixed with French variety from the 60s and 70s, and even Latino influences like bossa nova.”

The result? A sample that SCH loved instantly, crafted with big arpeggios and chords full of tension. The track resonated with critics and fans alike, staying in the Top 50 for two weeks and remaining in the Top 200 to this day.
“It’s moments like these that motivate me to keep working,” yuo shares.
Advice for Aspiring Creators
Yuo’s advice for fellow sample makers and pianists is simple yet profound: stay curious.
“Always experiment and listen to music from all over the world,” he says. “There are incredible ideas everywhere, and inspiration often comes from the most unexpected places.”

He also emphasizes the importance of understanding music theory, harmony, and orchestration.
“Once you understand them, you’ll start creating with intention,” yuo explains, “making purposeful choices that elevate your work. And when crafting samples, think about their potential as full tracks. Structuring your compositions with parts that evolve and vary gives producers the flexibility to create something truly dynamic.”

Looking Ahead
As for the future, yuo’s focus is clear: to keep growing, both as an artist and as a person.
“I’ve learned that you can’t control the destiny Allah has planned for you,” he says, “so I focus on doing my best and staying true to my path.”

The Nihaya Piano series has been highly beloved by the WAVS audience.
Whether it’s traveling the world, collaborating with inspiring people, or continuing to push the boundaries of his sound, Yuo’s journey is just beginning. And as he puts it:
“To every producer or sample maker reading this: it’s really possible. You could be one sample away from a big opportunity. So keep creating, keep learning, and don’t stop putting your work out there.”
