Clear samples instantly

If you release your track independently, without backing from a major record label, you're free to release it without needing clearance. But, if a major label releases your track, or if it gets over 1 million streams, you must register the track with us.

The percentage of earnings that goes to the sample creator is based on two factors: the type of license for the sample (Royalty A, B, or C) and how long (in seconds) the sample plays in your track.

Publishing Royalties

Refer to this chart to determine the percentage of the song's total publishing rights / songwriting splits owed to the creator. For example, if the chart indicates a 10% share for your sample use, then the creator is entitled to 10% of the song’s total publishing rights / songwriting splits.

Record Earnings

Refer to this chart to determine the percentage of your personal record earnings (such as fees, advances and record royalties) that should go to the sample creator. For example, if the chart indicates a 10% share for your sample use, then the creator is entitled to 10% of your own personal earnings from the record.

Beat licensing-friendly

You can use our non-royalty-free samples in your beats with no obligation to pay the sample creator a portion of your beat licensing revenue. However, you must ensure that anyone licensing your beats is aware they may have duties to the sample creator if their release is signed by a major label or surpasses 1 million streams.
