Atoms is a physical-modeling synthesizer released by Baby Audio in February 2024, the company's second instrument after the BA-1. Instead of oscillators or samples, its sound comes from a simulated network of interconnected masses and springs with adjustable properties and dimensions, excited by a virtual bowing action. The structure is in constant motion, so patches evolve and behave like plucked or bowed material rather than static synth tones. Baby Audio positions it as a sound-design tool for organic and otherworldly textures that a conventional subtractive or wavetable synth cannot produce. It is a young product, so its track record is thinner than the company's effects like TAIP, and its reputation rests more on the novelty of the engine than on documented use in released records. It is best understood as a texture and pad generator, not a workhorse lead or bass synth.
Source Baby Audio's own Atoms product page carries signed testimonials from these producers with their credits listed (Jae Deal - Charli xcx, Ty Dolla $ign, Ne-Yo; Mason Levy - Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber; Lukas Nathanson - Akon, Chris Brown, Monica).
