Bloom is an adaptive tone shaper from the Finnish developer Oeksound, released in 2024 as the company's first new studio plugin in roughly four years, following the widely praised Soothe2 and Spiff. It analyses the tonal balance of a signal and applies dynamic, context-aware adjustments to move it toward a target balance, using a primary amount control and frequency-balance sliders rather than manual EQ nodes. It is priced at the upper end of Oeksound's range and the specialist press was broadly positive. MusicRadar called it a powerful mix tool that does a lot to justify its pro price point, and Sound on Sound found it works on anything from individual sources to the master bus, and from delicate acoustic recordings to brutal electronic kick drums. Its reputation is as a genuinely useful, if expensive, make-it-sound-better tool rather than a surgical problem-solver.
Source oeksound's own testimonials page carries signed Bloom quotes: Lamont Sincere (Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty, GloRilla) - 'Bloom doesn't just shape the sound of the vocals; it reveals what was always meant to be heard'; J3M Sound (Drake, Faith Evans) - 'I put it at the end of almost every bus'; Buddy Ross (Frank Ocean, Travis Scott) - 'it's made its way onto every project I've been working on since'; Ian Kimmel (BTS, Anderson.Paak); Otis Millstone (Burna Boy).
