ATL Jacob is the production alias of Jacob Denzal Canady, born December 10, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia. He began producing at age 14 while attending Creekside High School, where he was a member of the school band playing piano, trumpet, trombone, alto sax, clarinet, marimba, xylophone, and the full percussion section. At 16, he was hospitalized for nine months and had to learn to walk again, during which time he continued making beats from his hospital bed.

Canady met Future through Future's brother Casino, who saw him making beats in the studio. He became Freebandz's in-house producer and produced seven tracks on Future's The WIZRD (2019), having previously sold beats for $90. He produced Future's "Wait for U" ft. Drake (No. 1 Hot 100, Grammy-nominated for Best Rap Song) and Kodak Black's "Super Gremlin" (No. 3 Hot 100). In May 2022, he topped Billboard's Hot 100 Producers chart. He also produced Nicki Minaj's "FTCU" and "Last Time I Saw You," Lil Baby's "Right On," and contributed to Kanye West's Donda. BMI named him Producer of the Year in 2022.

ATL Jacob founded his own label Wicked Money Family in 2019. He uses FL Studio on PC and creates his own 808s. He is a multi-instrumentalist whose band background informs his production approach. He has estimated having over 800 songs with Future. He told AllHipHop: "I feel like I am switching up the sound and the wave of music."
