DJ Quik is an American record producer and rapper born David Marvin Blake on January 18, 1970, in Compton, California. His 1991 debut album Quik Is the Name reached platinum certification and featured the single 'Tonite.'

He has produced for 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Suga Free, and many others, and is regarded as one of the foremost producers in West Coast hip-hop.

His production is funk-driven and known for its clean mixes, blending live instrumentation, talkbox, and a smooth West Coast bounce.
