Jermaine Dupri is an American record producer born Jermaine Dupri Mauldin on September 23, 1972, in Asheville, North Carolina, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He founded So So Def Recordings and produced the duo Kris Kross, whose 1992 single 'Jump' reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

He produced Usher's 2004 album Confessions and Mariah Carey's 2005 single 'We Belong Together,' along with work for Xscape, Bow Wow, and others across hip-hop and R&B.

His production blends polished Atlanta pop-rap and R&B, pairing clean drum programming with sample-savvy arrangements.
