About

Mannie Fresh is an American record producer born Byron O. Thomas on March 20, 1969, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He served as the in-house producer for Cash Money Records and produced Juvenile's 1998 single 'Back That Azz Up' from the album 400 Degreez, one of the label's signature hits.

He produced for the Hot Boys, Lil Wayne, and Birdman, among others, and formed the duo Big Tymers with Birdman. His work anchored Cash Money's commercial rise in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

His production draws on New Orleans bounce, featuring fast hi-hats, bright synthesizers, and melodic hooks layered over driving Southern drums.
