Nick Mira is the production alias of Nicholas Warren Mira, born August 25, 2000, in Richmond, Virginia. He played guitar as a child, later learning piano, and began producing at age 13, citing Pharrell Williams as his primary influence. He graduated from James River High School in 2019. He started by selling beats online through YouTube and his website, learning the business of beat licensing before co-founding Internet Money Records with Taz Taylor in 2016 after meeting through a Twitch stream.
Mira connected with Juice WRLD in 2016 through mutual friend Sidepce when Juice had roughly 300 SoundCloud followers. He produced nine tracks on Juice WRLD's Goodbye & Good Riddance (2018), including "Lucid Dreams" (No. 2 Hot 100, 5x platinum, over 2 billion Spotify streams, sampling Sting's "Shape of My Heart"), "All Girls Are the Same," and "Lean Wit Me," playing the guitar parts live. He produced four tracks on Death Race for Love (2019, No. 1 Billboard 200) including "Robbery" and "Empty." Their catalog included over 100 unreleased songs. He also produced XXXTentacion's "Fuck Love" (2017) which became the most-streamed SoundCloud song at 206 million streams.
Additional credits include Lil Tecca's "Ransom" (No. 4 Hot 100, co-produced with Taz Taylor), Internet Money's "Lemonade" ft. Gunna (No. 1 UK), Post Malone's "On the Road," Juice WRLD's posthumous "Smile" ft. The Weeknd, and tracks on Machine Gun Kelly's pop-punk album Tickets to My Downfall. He describes his style as "melodic, dynamic, and spacious." Internet Money signed a JV deal with Alamo/Interscope in 2018.
Signature Sound
Nick Mira builds melancholic, guitar-driven melodic trap beats with atmospheric synths, crisp hi-hats, and spacious arrangements that leave room for vocal emotion. His production defined the SoundCloud emo-rap era, pairing live-played guitar loops with trap drum programming to create an introspective, ambient sound.
