About

Pi'erre Bourne is the stage name of Jordan Timothy Jenks, born September 19, 1993, in Fort Riley, Kansas. He was raised in Columbia, South Carolina and spent summers with his grandmother in South Jamaica, Queens, which shaped his interest in East Coast hip-hop. His mother served in the military. His uncle Dwight, a rapper and graphic artist, inspired him to start making beats in elementary school using FL Studio. He attended the SAE Institute in Atlanta for sound engineering and interned under producer DJ Burn One. His stage name combines a sketch from Kenan Thompson's All That ("Everyday French with Pierre Escargot") and the 2002 film The Bourne Identity.

Jenks met Playboi Carti in February 2017 and produced "Magnolia" the following month, which peaked at No. 29 on the Hot 100 and became a viral phenomenon. His producer tag "Yo Pierre, you wanna come out here?" (sampled from The Jamie Foxx Show) became one of the most recognized in hip-hop. He executive produced Carti's Die Lit (2018) and produced 6ix9ine's "Gummo" (2017). Additional credits include Drake's "Pain 1993" (No. 7 Hot 100), Travis Scott's "Watch" ft. Kanye West, and sessions for Kanye's Ye and Jesus Is King. He signed to Interscope and founded his imprint SossHouse in 2017.

He cites Wiz Khalifa, video game soundtracks, Dipset, Kid Cudi, J Dilla, Pharrell, and Timbaland as influences. Pitchfork described his production as "airy video-game melodies paired with classic trap drums." He has also released solo albums including The Life of Pi'erre 4 (2019) and The Life of Pi'erre 5 (2021), both entirely self-produced. He previously worked as an engineer at Epic Records in Los Angeles.

Signature Sound
Pi'erre Bourne pairs airy, video game-influenced synth melodies with bouncy trap drum patterns, creating a spacious, psychedelic production style. His beats feel weightless and playful, using bright tonal palettes, sparse arrangements, and distinctive rhythmic pocket that gives vocalists an expansive canvas.
